Santé Center for Healing is located around 21 miles north of DFW International Airport, so there are plenty of accommodations. Hotels and transportation services near Santé Center
How often can family visit? Is it in person or virtual?
Families can visit once a week, typically on Saturdays. We offer both in-person and virtual options.
What should families know before visiting in person?
Our family coordinator will get in touch with your family before visiting to talk about what to expect. Two approved adults and any children are allowed on visit days. Visitors should keep conversation light, avoid food/snacks, and just be present.
What is the phone policy for visiting families?
We kindly ask all visitors to leave their mobile devices in their vehicles when meeting current residents on campus. This measure ensures the safety and privacy of our residents. Your cooperation helps us maintain a secure environment.
What is the phone policy for clients? Are there exceptions?
Residential clients cannot bring personal phones but can use Santé-provided phones starting on day five. We offer limited use when needed for legal/work needs (e.g. court check-ins, sober links). Clients with younger or adolescent children can request additional mid-week virtual visits with family to stay connected.
Intensive outpatient program clients have unlimited phone access.
Can clients in residential continue working?
We encourage our clients to take leave. Minimal check-ins may be allowed, but not enough to complete daily work tasks. Many of our clients take a leave of absence or use short-term disability/FMLA coverage. Our team can help file any necessary paperwork for work leave.
Can clients attend court hearings?
Yes. In-person and virtual hearings are allowed. We can help with documentation and coordination.
Is transportation provided?
We offer transportation around the local area for responsibilities like court. Airport pickup is available for arriving clients. For transportation needs outside the Dallas area, we can help coordinate as our clients need. Other transportation services in the area
Are pets or support animals allowed?
Residential clients, outpatient clients and approved visitors are allowed to bring service animals, providing the owner can answer if the service animal is required because of a disability and what work or task has the dog been trained to perform. Emotional support animals are not appropriate for our setting.
What can I bring to residential treatment?
Do clients have roommates?
Yes, two people per room. Roommates are assigned based on gender first to ensure comfort and safety. We also consider age and personality when assigning roommates. Addiction is an isolating disease; recovery is about relationships, including a roommate in residential treatment. Individual rooms are only available in very limited situations.
Can clients leave campus during residential treatment?
Yes, for medical and court appointments, or for approved leisure passes. Clients earn more leisure passes as they make progress in the program.
Can clients go on passes with family or peers?
Yes, with therapist approval. Clients can attend support group meetings within the greater community.
Is there a religious aspect to treatment?
Faith-based approaches are available but never required at Santé. Virtual religious services are available on campus, and clients with approved passes can attend religious services off campus.
Can my therapist or psychiatrist be involved in care?
Our staff will connect with referring mental and behavioral health providers before or at admission to collect any relevant records and information. After treatment, clients can resume sessions with outside mental and behavioral health providers. Clients will continue to receive any necessary medical treatment from outside providers during treatment.
Can alumni continue seeing Santé providers?
Yes. Our psychiatrists and nurse practitioners can see alumni on an outpatient basis. Alumni also receive invites to retreats and have access to a dedicated app for updates, support, sharing struggles, and celebrating milestones.
How often do clients see their therapists?
Clients have at minimum two individual sessions with their therapists per week; this can increase as need arises. Clients also participate in multi-hour small group therapy and process group led by that therapist at minimum of four days per week.
How often do clients see psychiatric providers?
Santé clients usually meet with a psychiatric provider about once a week. Psychiatry appointments often cover medication management, medication-assisted treatment, and assessments for diagnoses.
How are families involved?
Families participate in a recurring “Family & Friends Support Group,” receive an individual “family series” with a Santé family therapist, receive mental and behavioral health education, can participate with their loved one in a 2-Day Family Intensive, may participate in weekly visitation, and can receive referrals to outside therapists and support groups. Our team of master’s-level intake counselors work with families to get their perspective during intake so our Family Therapists can provide families with the support they need.
NOTE: Specific health information (like medical records and therapy notes) is private and will not be released to family members unless authorized with signed consents.
Is nicotine use allowed?
Yes, vaping and smoking are permitted in a designated outdoor area and at designated times. Please note, the Texas legal age is 21 for the purchase, distribution, possession, purchase, consumption or receipt of cigarettes, e-cigarettes or tobacco products. In addition, we support our clients who are trying to quit tobacco by offering a range of products and supportive resources.
What is the average length of stay?
It varies with each person clinically and medically, but the average is 45–65 days. All we’re asking for you to give yourself is today; let’s take one day at a time.
Is treatment individualized?
Yes. Treatment is tailored to each person’s needs and may include specialty modalities like EMDR, neurofeedback, and more.

What’s the difference between 12-step groups meeting in the community and residential treatment?
12-step groups like AA or NA are free, peer-led support meetings focused on shared experiences and spiritual growth. Residential treatment, on the other hand, is a structured, clinically facilitated and supervised program where clients live on-site and receive therapy, medical care, and personalized treatment plans.
How long is detox, and what meds do we provide for detox?
Most people complete detox in a few days, but we support clients as long as they need additional detox support to become stable for residential level of care. Medications are individualized to each client.
Can we do MAT?
Yes, we offer medication-assisted treatment when appropriate.
Do we help people with acute mental health?
Our clients have a level of stability where they are not a risk to themselves or others. If this describes you, and you can benefit from and contribute within individual and group therapy, call Santé today.
What insurance does Santé take? Are there out-of-pocket options?
We work with most major insurance carriers and can verify coverage before treatment starts. Out-of-pocket payment options are available and can be discussed during admission.
