Robert Townley M.S., LPC, EMDR-Trained
Robert Townley joined the Center for Counseling and Family Relationships in 2018. He earned his Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of North Texas. Robert became Licensed as a Professional Counselor in 2017. In his previous career, he was a professional firefighter for a local municipality. During his firefighting career, Robert led a team trained to assist first responders in managing trauma they experienced through critical incidents. He is EMDR Trained for working with trauma and PTSD. Robert is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. As a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, he understands the challenges of having a disability, both physically and mentally. Robert is also certified as a Prepare Enrich Facilitator. He has also completed training as a Level 2 Gottman Method Couples Therapist for his work with couples.
Robert understands that clients may be hesitant to share the details of their individual history. He is committed to providing a counseling environment that is calm, safe and non-judgmental. Robert counts trust and honesty as the hallmarks of healthy relationships. He believes his role as a counselor is to assist the client in finding solutions to their unique challenges.
