PEYTON COLLUM, DTS Student
Peyton Collum joined the Center for Counseling and Family Relationships in 2020. She is earning her Master’s in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary and will graduate in August 2020. Peyton completed her Bachelor’s at Texas Tech University in elementary education and special education. Her previous experience includes counseling at Denton County Children’s Advocacy Center, where she worked with children, adolescents, and adults of all ages. Peyton has also been the Director of a special needs church ministry and a nanny for a special needs adult.
Peyton believes in the power of the counseling relationship and considers it an honor to join clients in their healing journey. She believes this relationship is built on a foundation of respect, trust, and safety. Peyton believes the counseling relationship is a foundation for healing. She relies on the physical body (nervous system and brain) of a client to give them cues in daily life. These cues can empower a client to make changes as they recognize their needs.
