Mary M. Whiting M.S., BC-DMT – Cptsd Trauma Specialist
Mary Whiting M.S., BC-DMT is a Board Certified Dance Movement Therapist who specializes in the treatment of Complex post-traumatic stress, eating dysregulation, body-image, dissociative conditions, personality disorders and co-dependency in relationships.
A Michigan native and former professional modern dancer with the Martha Graham Ensemble, NYC, NY, has preceding affiliations with the Holliswood Hospital, the Renfrew Center and the Center for Experiential Psychotherapy in NYC, NY. She has served on the Southern Methodist University’s dance faculty search board, and as President of the Texas Chapter of the American Dance Therapy Association, Dallas, TX.
Ms. Whiting supervises, educates and lectures on the use of dance/movement therapy as a form of non-verbal psychotherapy and its effectiveness in treating Cptsd and emotional dysregulation response to trauma incorporating applications of Dr. Richard Kluft M.D., Dr. Colin Ross M.D. and Pete Walker’s M.A. ‘Trauma Model’ of functionality together with theoretical frameworks of Gestalt Psychoanalytic Experiential and Dance/Movement; body-mind integration.
