“Sometimes the only answer people are looking for when they ask for help is that they won’t have to face the problem alone” -Mark Amend
Asking for help is an act of courage and can leave us feeling vulnerable to judgment and the fear of being misunderstood. We all possess the capacity for growth and change when provided a nonjudgmental space to identify and explore our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I believe we can thrive when feeling validated, connected, and empowered. I believe in creating a collaborative and transparent therapeutic relationship where you feel challenged, yet supported in tackling your obstacles and achieving your goals. I find great value in the use of humor in the therapeutic relationship to provide healing and relief from the pressures of every day life.
My experience has allowed me to work with individuals, couples, and families across all levels of care. Intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior therapy, I have extensive experience helping individuals gain self-awareness and apply coping strategies for managing suicidal ideation, self-harm, anxiety, depression, and life transitions.
I have over 5 years of experience treating adolescents and adults with eating disorders in an inpatient setting and I know the challenges that come with maintaining recovery at the outpatient level of care. It can be the most challenging time in the recovery process as you fight to sustain your progress while managing the stressors of day-to-day life. I am committed to working alongside you and your family as you continue on your journey to recovery.
Regardless of where you are in your journey, I aim to offer a space for you to feel supported, challenged, and encouraged. If you have questions or would like to schedule a free phone consultation, please contact me at 469-888-1896
