Cynthia A. Granados LMFT, LPC
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. My experience as a Licensed Therapist includes working for the local Mental Health and Mental Retardation Authority (MHMR) as an Assessor with the Deputy Mobile Outreach Team and the Crisis Center, conducting court-ordered assessments for persons on Probation and providing group, individual and family therapy for probationers who were court-ordered for inpatient treatment at the Mentally Impaired Offender’s Facility. I also provided group, individual and family therapy at Laurel Ridge Treatment Center (an inpatient psychiatric hospital) for patients admitted for acute hospitalization. I have provided therapeutic services as an Independent Contractor for children, adolescents, parents and families referred by Child Protective Services and the Juvenile Probation Department.
I am currently focused solely on private practice and accept clients referred for services following inpatient psychiatric treatment, clients referred by insurance companies or EAP’s, self-referrals and referrals from various sources. I have participated in the required 15-hour training in order to provide Telehealth Therapy. I utilize a Family Systems, Post-Inductive Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approaches in therapy. It is important to explore and come to a realization how relationship dynamics from our childhood and family of origin may be impacting our ability to relate to others in the present. It is also important to explore and recognize the impact that our thoughts and beliefs have on our mood and behavior.
I graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word with a Bachelor of Arts in Multi-Disciplinary Studies (Psychology, Psychology of Organization and Development and Religious Studies). I graduated from St. Mary’s University with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am married and am the proud mother of two adult children and two adult stepchildren. I am also a grandmother.
