Kelly Couture, Clinical Manager and Psychotherapist
Kelly Couture is a Licensed Professional Counselor (Supervisor). She has practiced in the field of mental health for 20+ years and has experience not only with providing direct behavioral health care to individuals, couples, families and groups, but also in supervising counseling interns and licensed clinicians. Kelly earned her Masters Degree from Kent State University in Community Counseling. Kelly specializes in anxiety disorders, mood disorders, substance abuse/dependency and thought disorders. Kelly has a passion for working with women regarding pregnancy (before, during and postpartum) and specifically with pregnancy loss. Prior to joining Urban Balance, Kelly has provided outpatient therapy in community mental health and private practice settings for adolescents, adults and the elderly population. Kelly has extensive experience working with adults in mobile crisis, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient hospitalization settings. Having experience with Emergency Trauma Response Teams and provision of Critical Incident Debriefings, Kelly also has expertise in crisis intervention and suicide education. Kelly tailors treatment using an eclectic style that incorporates modalities of Person Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness. Kelly walks along side clients on their journey toward health with positivity and warmth, using a holistic approach that supports the whole person (emotional, physical, mental and spiritual).
