Christi Nelson, MA LPC, LCDC
Christi has been a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor since 2008, a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2020, and a Certified Life Coach since 2015. She has been serving Collin, Dallas, Grayson, Denton, and Hunt Counties for more than 15 years. Christi has experience with CPS/DFPS, probation, drug/dwi courts, attorneys, EAP’s, and TPAPN. Christi has a passion for working with Military Veterans, backed by years of experience. She provides on-site “DWI in the Workplace” and “Mental Health in the Workplace” for employees and employers. Christi is also certified in Non-Violent Crisis Prevention and Intervention as well as Grief and Loss Recovery. She also acts as a consultant for various Outpatient Programs as well as Partial Hospitalization Programs in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. She conducts various community seminars on substance abuse as well as workshops on mental health in the workplace. She has worked with a diverse population and treats everyone with the same care, compassion, and respect.
“I believe in a holistic approach, which includes the mind, body, and spirit. The whole person needs to heal for success. And I do believe everyone can heal.” I work with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, substance abuse, and general life situations. I will always have a passion for substance abuse. Many see drugs/alcohol as the problem. I see drugs and alcohol as the solution we found for problems we don’t know how to resolve. Substances have become our coping skills. The underlying problems must be addressed for healing to take place.
