Amy Shore, Licensed Professional Counselor
My name is Amy Shore, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who earned an M.Ed. in Counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria in 2015. I taught high school English for 13 years, and I was an adoption professional for over 10 years, working at a nonprofit adoption agency with birth parents, adoptive parents, and adoptees. In addition to my Texas counseling license, I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Certified Counseling Trauma Professional (CCTP).
My love of counseling and helping people morphed into me starting my own counseling private practice where I work full time. My specialties include teens and tweens and adults in transition, and my focus is anxiety and panic attacks, depression, social anxiety, ADHD, parent/child conflict, marriage counseling, self-esteem, and grief/loss . My clients are tween/teen boys and girls as well as women and men of all ages. I am LGBTQ friendly and welcome those who want to discuss gender, body dysmorphic disorder, transgender transitioning, coming out to family, and relationships.
There are times when people hit “bumps” in the road, and when those bumps interfere with an individual’s happiness and ability to function in a normal way, finding a therapist to work with is the next step to helping you move forward. I am patient, calm, friendly, soft-spoken, and caring, and my best quality is my ability to empathize with clients. In my counseling sessions, you are the driver, and I help you with directions so we arrive at the final destination where you want to be.
Please call me at 832-915-0189 or email me at ashore.counselor@gmail.com to make an appointment. My website is www.amyshorecounseling.com. I accept BCBS PPO, Cigna, United Healthcare, Out of Network Benefits, and private pay. Sliding scale available. I look forward to meeting you soon!
