Executive Staff

Chief Executive OfficerIMG_1508

Mr. Wade has been leading Santé Center for Healing since 1999.  Wade came to Santé Center for Healing with over twenty years experience in healthcare, eighteen of which have been in healthcare administration.  He has over 19 years experience at the Chief Executive Officer level in psychiatric and addictions hospitals.  Mr. Wade is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives.  He has a B.A. from Hanover College, Hanover, Indiana, and a M.S. from George Williams College, Downers Grove, Illinois.  Mr. Wade began his career in healthcare at Mercy Center for Healthcare Services in Aurora, Illinois, where he was Program Coordinator of the Nelson Adolescent Program.  From there, he moved to South Bend, Indiana, where he helped open Charter Hospital of South Bend.  He was instrumental in designing, implementing, and administrating the clinical programming.  Mr. Wade eventually served as CEO of that hospital.  After leaving Charter Hospital, he moved to Dallas, Texas, where he became the Administrator of Green Oaks Hospital at Medical City Dallas and served on the Senior Management Team of Medical City Dallas Hospital.

Co-Owner

George became the co-owner of Sante Center for Healing in September 2007, but has been involved with Sante since its inception.  He is retired from Xerox where he was Manager of Collection Services, Manager of Accounts Receivables, and Corporate Trainer.  George was also a bank officer in San Antonio and Branch Manager for a Savings and Loan.  He was Executive Vice President for Sun Financial.

Co-Founder, Co-Owner and Clinical Consultant

Dr. Corley is co-founder and co-owner of Santé and is licensed as an addiction specialist, a marriage and family therapist, and sex offender treatment provider. She has over 30 years’ experience working with and conducting research on addictive disorders. She was the 1999 recipient of the Carnes Award for outstanding achievement in the field of sex addiction and received the 1999 Clinician's Most Valuable Article award by the American Foundation of Addiction Research for her work on disclosure. Most recently she received the Merit Award from the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health (SASH) and the SASH Board of Directors named their research award the Corley Research Scholarship Award after Dr. Corley and her brother Rip Corley. Dr. Corley is the past president of the Board of Directors of the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health and is a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. She is recognized as a national presenter and has authored many articles and co-authored the books Disclosing Secrets and Surviving Disclosure and is one of the contributing authors on Making Advances: A Comprehensive Guide to the Treatment of Female Sex and Love Addicts.

Sam has been with Sante’ Center for Healing for over a decade as Director of Intake and Admissions, Director of Outpatient Services, and Chief Operating Officer. Sam received his Master’s in Business Administration and Master’s in Health Systems Management from Texas Woman’s University. He is also a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, who received his Master’s in Counseling and Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of North Texas. Sam is an Eagle Scout and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is dedicated to service excellence  and the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Chief Financial Officer

Noah has spent the last decade working and studying healthcare administration and health systems. Noah graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University, and completed his MBA in Healthcare Organization Management there.   He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Noah has been with Santé Center for Healing for over 7 years as Controller and Chief Financial Officer. He is invested in the long term financial stability and quality of care at the center.

Previous to his tenure at Santé, Noah was the Special Projects Coordinator at The Lubbock Heart Hospital, a cardiovascular center in Lubbock, Texas as well as employment within a law firm before time spent in the banking and financial industry.  Noah has served on the Rawls College of Business research faculty and has successfully owned and operated his own small businesses. He has volunteered time coaching junior high and high school level basketball and golf and has worked with several organizations to provide inner city and low income families with needed resources including food and housing.  Noah currently volunteers as a Coordinator and Support Personnel with Denton County Medical Reserve Corps.

Physicians

Melissa Pennington, D.O. - Medical Director

Dr. Melissa Pennington is a board-certified adult psychiatrist specializing in the treatment of chemical dependency and eating disorders.  Prior to joining Sante, she served as medical director of the Eating Disorders Program at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Of Dallas from 2010-2015. She attended medical school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center and completed her psychiatry residency at John Peter Smith Hospital, where she was awarded intern of the year and served as chief resident for two consecutive years. She is a Diplomat of the American Board of Addiction Psychiatry.

Preji Somar, M.S, M.S.N, LPC, APRN, PHMNP-BC - Psychiatric Nurse PractitionerPreji 2

Preji Somar is board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is a graduate of Advanced Master Psychopharmacology Program from Neuroscience Education Institute accredited by Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education.  She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor. Preji has 10 years of combined education, training and experience in the field of psychology and psychiatry and has experience working with all ages and variety of populations. After obtaining her Associate Degree in Liberal Sciences from Dallas County Community College and Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from University of Texas at Dallas, she further pursued her interest in behavioral sciences by obtaining her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Abilene Christian University. She then further expanded her education and training in psychiatric care by becoming a registered nurse and obtaining her Master’s Degree in  Family Mental Health Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program at The University of Texas at Austin.

Director of Clinical Services

Jennifer has been with Santé for over seven years as an Intake & Admission counselor, Director of Transitional Living, Director of Outpatient Services, and now Director of Clinical Services over both Residential and Outpatient Programming. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Master’s in Counseling from the University of North Texas.  Jennifer is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist. She is driven to help those struggling with chemical, alcohol and sex addiction, eating disorders, gambling, gaming and other process addictions in addition to co-occurring psychiatric diagnoses. Jennifer utilizes her passion and expertise to promote Santé treatment programs as she oversees Transitional Living, the Intensive Outpatient Program, Family Therapy and the Residential Program.

Residential Program Manager

Pepper earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and her Masters in counselling at Dallas Baptist University. Pepper came to counselling after feeling drawn to the field by her own experiences. She has worked with eating disorders for many years; including writing her own recovery newsletter and running several support groups. Pepper is currently the Eating Disorder consultant and a Case Manager. Pepper works with those battling co-occurring addictions, mental health issues and eating disorders. Trained in Anger Management, EMDR, Intuitive Eating and DBT, Pepper aims to find the best treatment approach for each individual’s needs by combining traditional methods with creativity. She brings to her practice a love of music, arts, writing and generally thinking outside the box to find the joy hidden inside us all.

Licensed Psychologist/Director of Training & Diversity

Dr. Reimers is a licensed psychologist and Director of Training at Santé Center for Healing. She earned her undergraduate degree from Minnesota State University, graduating summa cum laude with a double major in psychology and women’s studies and went on to earn a Master’s degree and PhD in Counseling Psychology from Texas Women's University (TWU). Dr. Reimers completed her doctoral internship at the student counseling center at University of Texas (UT) at Austin. She worked for several years for the Comprehensive Assessment and Treatments Services (CATS) division of Dallas Country Adult Probation. In this supervisory position, Dr. Reimers’ work focused on training and supervising counselors who worked with indigent probationers struggling with addiction and psychological issues. In 2013, she completed a three-year appointment to APA’s Public Interest Committee on Socioeconomic Status (CSES). Dr. Reimers research interests have been primarily focused around social class, race, and gender, with a particular focus on the intersectionality of these and other important diversity variables, with a current publication in The Counseling Psychologist (2015), "Class at the Intersection of Race and Gender: A 15-year Content Analysis.

Residential Clinical Staff

Case Manager thaddeus final

Dr. Thaddeus Allen completed his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology.  Dr. Allen joined the Santé team in 2014 as a doctoral intern and when he completed his fellowship he accepted a position as a case manager full time.  Dr. Allen worked as a certified alcohol and drug counselor in Illinois prior to receiving his doctorate and has since broadened his therapeutic style which includes Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Emotions Focused therapy, and Psychodynamic therapy.

Joann has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from University of North Texas Denton and graduated Cum Laude. Joann earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling & Development from Texas Woman’s University in Denton and is National Certified Counselor. Joann was the 2012-2013 President of the Chi Sigma Iota counseling honor society at Texas Women’s University, member of Phi Kappa Phi the oldest and largest honor society in the US, a member of Golden Key honor society, is a 2013 Who’s Who recipient, a member of the Texas Counseling Association, and Texas Association for Multicultural Counseling, Joann did all three of her Internships at Sante Center for Healing while simultaneously working at the Denton County Juvenile Detention Center.  Joann has worked as an Intensive outpatient case manager for the last three years and as of March 07, 2016 will be joining the Residential case management group as Residential case manager.

 

Case Manager

Jaylia earned her Master’s Degree in Family Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in 2010. Jaylia served her internship at UT Southwestern Medical School as a Medical Family Therapist Intern in the ALS Clinic and as a Family Therapist Intern in the Family Studies Center, specializing in marital therapy. Jaylia served as the Program Manager over two outpatient programs prior to coming to Sante and during that time, she became inspired by those that were in recovery and wanted to learn how to help others in their journey. Jaylia’s therapeutic interests include addictions and their impact on the relationship with self and others. Jaylia’s therapeutic style includes techniques from Emotionally Focused, Transgenerational, and Gottman therapies.

Ashley earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of North Texas. ashley finalAshley has worked with the family system for 2 years working with Child Protective Services and a small non-profit After School Program. Ashley has a passion for working with families and helping build healthy relationships.

Intake & Admissions

Director of Intake & Admissions & Licensed Professional Assessment Team Coordinator

Credentials: MA, LMFT

Michelle has been with Santé Center for Healing since 2013 as an Intake and Admissions Counselor and now the Director of Intake and Admissions. She also is the team coordinator for our Licensed Professional Assessments. Michelle received her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Appalachian State University and undergraduate in psychology from the University of Saint Mary in Kansas. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist- Associate and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor- Intern. She is driven and passionate to help patients and their families recover from the disease of addiction.

Intake & Admissions Counselor

Serra earned her Bachelor’s Degree of Applied Behavior Analysis from University of North Texas. Serra began her Masters of Arts in Multicultural Counseling at the University of Colorado in Denver. She moved back to Texas in 2014 and is currently studying for her Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health at the University of North Texas. Serra is a member of Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society. Serra has worked as an interviewer as well as a case manager at the Substance Abuse Research Department of the University of Colorado Denver and has experience assisting Certified Behavior Analysts at the Denton State Supported Living Center. Serra’s areas of interest include chemical dependency, Animal-Assisted Therapy, Art and Movement Therapies in addition to depressive, anxiety, and co-curring disorders.

Intake and Admissions Counselor

Laurence earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a focus in Social Psychology and Sociology from the University of Texas at Arlington and completed his Master’s Degree in Counseling and Development from Texas Woman’s University in December 2015.  Laurence spent five years working as a Rehabilitation Specialist and Case Manager at Denton County MHMR where he worked with individuals with co-occurring substance abuse and mental health issues.  Laurence completed his clinical internships by providing existential and expressive art therapy to individuals at MHMR and the Counseling and Family Therapy Clinic at TWU.  Laurence’s objective is to work with individuals to help them discover and apply meaning to their lives and their circumstances, encouraging them to embrace freedom and a healthy lifestyle.

LeAnne received her Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Gerontology from William Carey University in 2009. LeAnne has recently received, December 2015, her Master’s in Counseling and Development from Texas Women’s University. LeAnne has been with Sante for almost 2 years and has played many roles in her tenure here. LeAnne has a deep and personally centered passion for individuals who struggle with addiction. She uses her authentic sense of self to create a real and down to earth atmosphere with the individuals she works with. LeAnne is also passionate about helping others find this same authentic sense of self.

Renee began serving as Director of Nurses in 2015.  She has been with Sante Center since 2005 starting out as a staff nurse.  She has been a nurse since 1993 and has worked in varies hospital settings and mental health hospitals.

She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington.  She is certified in Chemical Addiction Registered Nurse (CARN), and a member of International Nurses Society on Addiction.  She is passionate about educating staff to grow their knowledge to better care for our patients.

Supportive Staff

Laura DeaneDietician

Laura views food as something that should be enjoyed and used to fuel life but not control it. She speaks to this message each day, coaching and encouraging individuals at Santé through personalized nutrition sessions as well as group classes. Through these experiences individuals begin to develop a healthy relationship with food while adopting balanced and sustainable eating habits. Deane graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Stephen F. Austin State University which was followed by a dietetic internship program and a Master of Science in Nutrition degree from Texas Woman’s University. This diverse background of education has provided Laura with the latest research and information concerning food and nutrition.

Pat has a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, Nursing, and Anthropology. She worked as an RN for 30 years, with a primary focus in Adult Intensive Care and Trauma, as well as Nursing Administration. Pat retired from nursing in 2005, and returned to school to obtain a Masters Degree in Community Counseling.

Reverend Leo BoothSpiritual Advisor

Reverend Leo Booth is a Unity minister, and an internationally acclaimed author, lecturer, and trainer on all aspects of spirituality and recovery from depression, addictions, compulsive behaviors, and low self-esteem

Rev. Leo speaks at many National and International conferences, plus churches of all denominations. In addition to specific in-services and lectures on religious addiction and abuse, Rev. Leo presents workshops, lectures, and training on a broad spectrum of issues to a variety of organizations and institutions.

Rev. Leo writes regularly in Counselor Magazine and is the author of 10 publications, which include Say Yes to Your Life, Say Yes to Your Spirit, Spirituality and Recovery, The Wisdom of Letting Go, The Angel and the Frog and others. Rev. Leo has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Morning America and others.

Neurofeedback

Richard Davis is a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice in Denton, TX. He has a Master’s degree in Counseling and Human Development from the University of North Texas (UNT) with a concentration in biofeedback, and he is Board Certified in Neurofeedback by the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance. He is trained in all forms of biofeedback, but specializes in neurofeedback and quantitative EEG (QEEG). He has been involved with biofeedback for 19 years and has worked almost exclusively with neurofeedback for the last 15 years. He was a consultant to and a member of the training staff of the former University of North Texas Neurotherapy Lab. He is a former Treasurer and Board Member for the Biofeedback Society of Texas; and is a former two-term Treasurer and now President-Elect of the International Society of Neurofeedback and Research (ISNR), Treasurer for the ISNR Research Foundation, and a former Board Member of the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback Neurofeedback Division.

Aftercare and Alumni Coordinator

Brian is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor – Intern who received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Anthropology at the University of North Texas. He has been with Santé for more than two years, serves as one of Santé’s Certified Ropes Instructors and feels a sense of pride and purpose working in the addiction field. As the Aftercare and Alumni Coordinator, Brian serves as a liaison for our alumni and creates individualized aftercare plans for each residential patient as their prepare to discharge.

David is Equine Assisted Therapist certified through Equine Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) and has advanced training in Trauma Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy through Natural Lifemanship. His specializations include addictions, dual diagnosis, and trauma in adolescents and adults.

Cathy’s vast experience come from directing a large, trauma-focused counseling center and 20+ years as a therapist using child/parent relationship training, sand tray work, cognitive behavioral therapy and other modalities to successfully work with adolescents and adults with a variety of issues. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor with a Certification in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, is trained in EMDR, has advanced training in Trauma Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy through Natural Lifemanship, and offers the choice of faith-based view.

DeAnna is a Certified Hatha Yoga teacher with specializations in Yoga for Beginners, Prenatal Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Therapeutics, Ayurveda, and Yoga for Recovery and Emotional Healing. Since beginning her personal yoga journey in 1993, DeAnna has been blessed to have studied with a plethora of wonderful teachers from around the world, most influential being Karen Prior, E-RYT 500 of N2Yoga for Hatha & Therapeutics, Dr. David Frawley (Pandit Vamadeva Shastri) in the areas of Vedic Astrology and Ayurveda, Anodea Judith for the Subtle Body/Chakra System, and Jill Kline for Reiki Healing. DeAnna is the Director and Author of the Breathe Into Awareness Teacher Training programs at the 200 Hour Level and Co-Author, along with Jan Guinn E-RYT 500 at the 500 Hour Level. In addition to yoga related services, DeAnna is a Life Coach trained through the Gardner Institute, offering Mindset for Success and Core Coaching with a Neuroscience approach.

Clyde the CatResident Cat

Clyde was adopted by Santé approximately two years ago. One of the great benefits to having Clyde is the unconditional love he offers to our community. Pets have been shown to reduce stress and it facilitates more social interaction. Clyde is always very well loved by our community and staff and has become part of the Santé family.
